Hello Friends, Enemies, and the Generally Disinterested,
I thought I would kick off the new year with my 100th post! Who knew I could talk that much? Okay, anyone that knows me in person had no doubts! But in my defense, it has taken three years! I launched this blog (thanks to the prodding of a wonderful woman God sent into my life!) in January 2009. I haven’t gotten famous (infamous… maybe) but I have made some amazing friends and avoided having to pay a therapist! A few dear friends are better than fame any day. I have also gathered a few dissenters, and that’s good too. I am thankful for both!
WordPress sends out a helpful end-of-year report to their bloggers and I noticed 8thday4life had visitors from many different countries! I feel so privileged to share what God has done in our lives with so many people that I would have never had the opportunity to meet otherwise.
One project for the coming year is a website/blog dedicated to health and nutrition, especially for those who wish to transition from a vegetarian to a more omnivorous diet. I am learning so much in this area myself (and this idea also coming from a good friend). The health issue as it relates to Seventh-day Adventism is one of the most sought after topics on this blog, which had come as a surprise to me. We seek to find our true rest in Christ in all aspects of our lives, even food.
I am praying about what to share this year, and am excited about what God has in store to teach me. I don’t want to sit on yesterday’s revelation. I pray we all grow in Christ this year, feeding on our daily Bread, Water of Life, walking in the Light of Life!
Blessings in Jesus to you for 2012!
Happy New Year and congratulations on your 100th post! I for one would love it if you posted more often. 🙂
The blog about transistioning to an omnivorous diet sounds like it will meet a need. I haven’t been vegetarian, but I gave up pork and shellfish when I was Torah-observant, and cannot bring myself to eat them now. I would like to know the truth about the health effects of eating these meats.
Keep walking in the Light,
Your sister in Christ.
Well if you are experienced at cooking shellfish I could use some help! lol. Food is where we live and it’s a reflection of so many things. It brings people together, and it can divide too. It will be interesting to see where that leads! And I agree with Gracie that “WAS” (past tense) part of your comment is encouraging for many of us. I love my Torah Observant friends I have (and those I lost), but to be united in Jesus alone with nothing in between would be a joy. Thank you for your comments so much!!
Our very best to you for a truly Happy New Year! And – also YES, congratulations on your 100th post!
We are more than thankful for your testimony and so thankful also for Johanna’s words that she WAS Torah-observant! How hugely encouraging and what a beautiful reminder of our Savior’s immense love and mercy! May you all be continually and richly blessed as you minister in Christ!
please remove my name from above – I’ve not posted before and did not know you would use my real name (duh, so sorry) we are in the midst of hard times with family over HRM and this may cause them not even to speak to us anymore. So this is not the time to use my real name – can you put in Gracie instead?
Oh I do understand! Blogging has crossed over into my personal life as well… which has created some complications at times. It’s not that I want to hide anything, but you approach things differently one on one with family than you do in a setting where you are writing openly, and those lines do intersect at times, with unfortunate results. Thankfully comments go to moderation for those who have not commented previously, so you are in the clear! Blessings and prayers for your situation!
Yay! You go, girl =o)!
I’m so glad you stuck with this – your posts are a great blessing to many out there and to me too.
Hey – check the following link for a map you can put in your sidebar. You can see my map on the right sidebar at JGIG.

It’s easy to do, free, and fun to see where folks are visiting from!
Many blessings to you and your family in the New Year.
Much love in Christ,
-JGIG
I forgot to add that ClustrMaps only captures 1/4 – 1/3 of hits, but it’s still fun to see the variety of places where people are visiting from.
Thanks!! I wondered where you got that! ha. I like that better than the “counters” which can be a source of embarrassment or pride, depending on your stats. haha… Maybe I will think about that on the food blog. Thanks for being my inspiration and encouragement over and over!!
Happy New Year! If your writings in 2012 bring as much change and growth in my life as the last two years, please write as often as possible!! Congratulations on your 100th post!
Congratulations on your 100th post!
I am new here via a search on Joseph Farah/HRM. I’ve only recently noticed that he is promoting HRM on his WND site and it concerns me as his is a real go-to site for me for political news. A friend introduced me to HRM/Sacred Name a couple of years ago in a chat room and I knew by just hearing him talk that it was way off base. I’ve learned more since then but, because I’ve also learned how prevalent it is, as is the “Nazarites”, I am pressed to learn more. So, thank you for sharing your experiences and wisdom on the subject. I will return. God bless you mightily as you spread the TRUTH.
Welcome and thank you!! I am always encouraged to hear that our past experience is helpful to someone else. I have not had much to write recently because I have virtually no contact with the movement anymore itself. I don’t have many more ways to say the same simple truth, but there are a few more posts I have in mind. God bless and so glad to hear that you immediately knew it was off base! If only that were true for everyone!
